Gardening in The Bay

I wanted to post some pics of our garden in August 2009 for all to see, because they're actually growing and looking great these days. I think our experiment with organic food sufficiency might actually work now (if we don't get drowned today). So, I'll be posting lots of pics here now of how the garden grows. Enjoy.

Dulsing at Cape Split

Hey all! Haven't posted in a LONG time, but thought that I'd give an update and try to use this more regularly for communication with family and friends as to what I'm up to these days...

Joel and I went to Cape Split Provincial Park here in Scots Bay this weekend for the annual community Dulsing festival held on the shores of the Bat of Fundy. Dulse is a seaweed that is harvested at the highest tides of the summer and dried in a barn to be eaten for the rest of the year like chips with our homemade beer. It is drying now, despite Hurricane Bill that's arrived today.

Our friend Rick Mosher and Joel harvested quite a pile of it and the boys packed it out of the park on Friday night. Here's Joel with his load!
